Audio solutions for medical practices

Smart solutions for relaxed patients and satisfied staff

Relaxed practice visit - thanks to WHD audio solutions

A new diagnosis, a confidential conversation: For patients, a visit to the doctor can be associated with great tension. This stress, in turn, affects well-being, interaction, and communication. The environment helps to make the visit as pleasant as possible: A well-thought-out concept for equipment, lighting, and sound is essential!

Patient satisfaction

Daily work routine

Stress reduction

Patient satisfaction and pleasant working day

Scientific studies repeatedly point to the positive effect of music: for stress reduction, calming, and well-being. This benefits everyone in medical practices and group practices, both staff and patients: a relaxed atmosphere ensures pleasant work and a positive experience during the practice visit.

Bad sound – more than an annoyance

Whether tension or relaxation: a lot depends on the quality of the loudspeakers. Shabby sound and clattering audio are an annoyance and lead to irritability. WHD sound reinforcement is characterized by high sound quality with optimized sound settings. Music should contribute to feeling completely comfortable! Good sound reinforcement means satisfaction – added value for patients, doctors, and therapists.

Smart, innovative and practical

Doesn't get in the way, doesn't bother, and is fun: WHD's invisible sound system makes furnishings resonate. Your own music can be streamed directly via WLAN or Bluetooth! Waiting room or treatment room: Every room thus has its own audio system: This increases the feel-good moment and the quality of the stay!

Clear lines and uniform design with background sound system

Nothing is in the way, nothing disturbs the design: Invisible sound systems and concealed loudspeakers provide good sound – for background music and clear announcements. Shapes and colors of the furnishings do not necessarily have to be considered in the sound planning. All WHD sound solutions are suitable for new construction and retrofitting.

Low-maintenance audio solutions: Hygiene in focus

Wipe disinfection wears out many materials over time. But dusty loudspeakers are taboo in medical practices! WHD offers several solutions in which high-quality sound and strict hygiene measures no longer exclude each other. For example, with invisible sound systems, wavebreakers, or stretched ceiling loudspeakers. Here, no device interferes with regular surface disinfection!

For more discretion at the reception desk: Soundmasking

Data protection is a core area of every practice. But communication at the reception desk often becomes a challenge, not only because of medical masks and acrylic glass walls! It is not always possible to structurally modify so that conversations in the reception area remain confidential. Targeted subtle background music helps to discreetly shield conversations through sound masking.

Advantages for practice teams and patients

  • Excellent sound: Soothing music for calming and relaxation
  • Integrated functionality: Call communication and music sound system integrated into one system
  • Simple: Radio station starts automatically when switched on
  • Invisible loudspeakers for hygiene and purist design
  • Design: Compatible with common switch ranges
  • Open solution also in conjunction with Sonos Amp
  • Easy multiroom app for sound control of different rooms

The 10 biggest planning mistakes in medical practices

01

Too few loudspeakers

Don't skimp on the wrong things!

Insufficient equipment leads to large volume and sound differences in the room: Here it is too loud, there too quiet, here it is too dull, there too treble-heavy. Speech intelligibility also suffers.

02

Wrong loudspeakers

Not everything fits!

Loudspeakers that are too small reproduce low tones poorly and are therefore not suitable for music. Loudspeakers with too wide a dispersion angle, on the other hand, radiate onto all surfaces and, with many hard surfaces, additionally stimulate reverberation. This leads to poor music reproduction and speech intelligibility.

03

Wrong arrangement of loudspeakers

Everything in its place!

Loudspeakers that are too far apart lead to an inconsistent sound experience, loudspeakers in the corner tend to boom. If loudspeakers are not aligned with the central listening position, they also fall far short of their potential - and in the worst case, even sound unpleasant.

04

Too many loudspeakers on one amplifier

Please don't overdo it!

If too many loudspeakers are connected to an amplifier, not only does the sound suffer. The amplifier can even be damaged.

05

Wrong cables

Avoid long cables!

RCA cables that are too long can make speakers hum. Speaker cables that are too thin lead to a significant loss in volume and sound.

06

Incorrect installation

The devil is in the details!

Cables and housing parts can cause annoying vibration noises. Or speaker housings are not sufficiently decoupled from the ceiling or wall. The result: structure-borne sound excites the wall, and the sound suffers. If loudspeakers are installed in a sound-absorbing panel with holes, an acoustic short circuit occurs, and the bass reproduction suffers.

07

Wrong settings

Sounds trivial, but it isn't!

If volume and sound are not set correctly by the user, the speaker can do little. If the volume is too low, music does not reach the listener or announcements remain unintelligible. If the volume is too high, the room is unnecessarily excited. This creates reverberation, and the quality of music or speech suffers. Too much bass reproduction sounds boomy and unintelligible, too much treble leads to an aggressive sound.

08

Poor reception

Spread it out!

If the radio signal from WLAN, Bluetooth or radio is not available everywhere, unsightly audio dropouts occur again and again. The same happens with insufficient bandwidth in the network.

09

Power supply

Attention, interference!

Audible interference often results from other devices and control units (e.g. lights) that are positioned too close. Incorrect cable routing can also be a reason for interference. Humming speakers usually have grounding problems. So-called ground loops occur when devices are supplied with power at different points.

10

Poor room acoustics

The room makes the music!

There are rooms where even the best loudspeaker doesn't sound good. Too many hard surfaces made of glass, concrete, tiles and metal make the room echo, making listening to music unbearable and conversations unintelligible. For better room acoustics, sound-absorbing techniques and materials, so-called absorbers, can be used.
