Time is pressing, resources are scarce. The client has specific ideas and high expectations. The construction of the building complex has long been underway, but the planning for the sound system is lagging behind. This is probably a familiar scenario for every planner, architect, and electrical installer. A new digital tool from audio experts WHD aims to provide quick and practical solutions.
At "Weißer's Floraparadies", the final sprint is beginning. For several months, the Baden-Württemberg garden center in Niedereschach has been undergoing a generous expansion: an inviting three-nave glass building is being erected, the cold and warm houses are being extended, and a new marketplace is being created. A cozy café will invite customers to linger in the warm house in winter and on outdoor seating in summer. The opening date is already set, as it will coincide with the start of the new garden season.
Suitable sound system for the new building
Elektro Dietz from neighboring Villingen-Schwenningen is responsible for the extensive sound planning. The task: equip the entire new building, including the experiential gastronomy, with a suitable and powerful audio solution and integrate the sound system of the existing building complexes. Up to ten zones will be individually supplied with different music and volume control in the future, optionally also via internet radio and FM stream. In addition, the garden center wants to be able to make announcements via microphone or play pre-recorded messages. The respective loudspeakers should also blend discreetly into the environment. Jürgen Dietz, head of the established specialist company for electrical installations, can look back on many years of experience and has often mastered similar assignments on schedule. But now, at the beginning of 2019, time is particularly pressing. Fortunately, while searching for suitable loudspeakers for the garden center, Dietz came across the new online project planner on the WHD website.
An online tool for everyone
WHD from Deißlingen in the Black Forest is a renowned loudspeaker manufacturer and developer of audio solutions. However, CEO Stefan Huber wants to do more than just sell his products: "In the course of digitalization, we asked ourselves what processes we could provide to our customers and partners as a tool," says Huber. It is precisely situations like the sound planning for "Weißer's Floraparadies" that WHD wants to go a step further for. That is why they developed the online project planner here to quickly and easily support architects, electrical installers and wholesalers - in short, all planners. It doesn't matter whether the planning involves sound systems for hotels and restaurants, offices and practices, or public facilities and residential buildings. Within the online project planner, all relevant information is queried in a structured way, and the customer is given the opportunity to outline their project in a few steps. The transmitted data is then evaluated by an experienced WHD employee and returned to the customer within 48 hours in the form of an individual equipment list plus wiring diagram. Upon request, a personal consultation is of course available - from planner to planner.
Customized loudspeakers
After just six weeks, WHD and Elektro Dietz successfully completed the realization. 11 very wide-dispersion spherical loudspeakers - each with a woofer and 4 tweeters, which were individually painted moss green at WHD at short notice, 5 HiFi Qube loudspeakers, 3 amplifiers and a voice module, as well as a microphone station were custom-fitted and installed, including a powerful special production for the event area. Jürgen Dietz is delighted: "The smooth cooperation in planning and support from WHD was great even during the installation phase."
While visitors stroll, shop, and drink coffee in the new glasshouse, soft background music plays from the new loudspeakers, subtly disappearing behind the lush plants. The reopening of "Weißer's Floraparadies" is a complete success.
