Weesen Gymnasium

Flexible, fast, and cost-effective: Together with its partner Visuell-Akustik AG, WHD designed a special solution for better sound quality in an existing audio infrastructure within a few days. Four PA speakers had to be replaced in the gymnasium of the Weesen primary school in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen – a project that was to be implemented as quickly and efficiently as possible.

 

The existing built-in enclosures were therefore left at the old speaker location, and "only" the chassis were replaced with those of the PA speaker BSB 150 from WHD. To recess the chassis and tweeter horn without problems – and without unscrewing the existing grilles – the sound walls were precisely cut and milled from black MDF in the WHD carpentry workshop. The crossover and the 100V toroidal transformer with a particularly flat design and very linear frequency response were finally supplied separately for easier installation. Since no adjustments to the speaker openings were necessary and the enclosures and wiring were reused, the on-site workload and costs were noticeably reduced thanks to careful preparatory work.

 

The new system is also easy to operate, and thanks to the DSP setting, all music is reproduced in the best quality, whether loud or soft. Within a very short time, the students experienced a completely new sound experience in their gymnasium thanks to this special solution!

The modern gymnasium of the Weesen primary school in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen is available to students for sports lessons during school hours, but can also be rented by groups or individuals outside of school hours.
