For years, the WHD VoiceBridge has been used as an easily retrofittable intercom system for pharmacies, doctor's offices, clinics, public authorities, and service areas with protective glazing. However, this compact communication solution is also suitable as an innovative intercom system for special vehicles. A leading Romanian ambulance manufacturer has proven this in a new reference project.
This opens up a completely new area of application for the VoiceBridge, which is particularly interesting for system integrators and manufacturers of special vehicles.
In emergency services, communication simply has to work.
However, the driver's and patient compartments are often separated by a wall or a pane of glass. Masks further complicate speaking, and sirens drown out every word.
Our VoiceBridge was specially developed for noisy and disruptive environments to ensure clear communication.
It is therefore a simple and inexpensive way to solve this problem in ambulances.
For this reason, Deltamed, a Romanian manufacturer, decided to install it in their vehicles.
And together with a Romanian business partner, hundreds of vehicles have already been equipped with the VoiceBridge Gen. 2 in a first pioneering project.
To ensure seamless communication between the two areas, one speech unit was installed in the driver's cabin and one in the patient compartment.
The VoiceBridge can be easily mounted on suitable surfaces, or as in this example, via a housing, and integrated into existing vehicle concepts.
Depending on the version, wired variants, a Bluetooth version with a headset, or a combined solution are available. This allows the communication solution to be flexibly adapted to different vehicle setups and work processes.
Particularly relevant for use in special vehicles are technical functions such as Noise Reduction, Acoustic Echo Cancellation, automatic calibration, and duplex communication. This allows simultaneous speaking and listening without disturbing echoes or feedback, which supports quick coordination during ongoing operations and helps to maintain efficient workflows.
