With simple Bluetooth pairing and handling, you can listen to the music world of the internet or from the internal and external memory of a terminal device such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, and computer. The Qube XL as a (W)LAN Speaker
(W)LAN music streaming is done via the standard interfaces Airplay, Airplay 2, DLNA, and UPnP in conjunction with our free WHD Multiroom Player App (Link to video). You can listen to music stored on the internal hard drive of your smartphone, tablet, and laptop via your home network, as well as music you manage on your media server and in the cloud. In addition, you can also stream music from any apps that are Airplay, DLNA, and UPnP compatible to the speaker. The Spotify music collection can be transferred to the speaker via Spotify Connect. With a cable connection to Echo Dot, you can use voice commands to access songs, audiobooks, and podcasts from various apps like Amazon Music to enjoy them in high-quality premium sound. Deezer is directly integrated into the WHD Multiroom Player App, allowing direct access to its music program if you have a subscription. With the WHD Multiroom Player App, you get access to the integrated internet radio and gain the following practical advantages:
Thanks to the standalone radio function, your playlist – radio station playlist from the WHD app and the playlist with other tracks and radio stations you manage on the network – is immediately on air after switching on the speaker, without the need for a smartphone or tablet. This way, you can quickly and easily listen to your favorite stations in the morning at breakfast. In addition, your family can easily listen to the favorite playlist via the standalone radio function, even if you leave the Wi-Fi reception area. The buttons on the speaker itself allow you to control stations/tracks within the playlist without the need for an end device.
The app also enables a multiroom system when using several WHD (W)LAN speakers simultaneously. Combine the Qube XL with several speakers from our (W)LAN Qube series and listen to different music in different rooms at the same time. Expecting guests and want to create a stylish atmosphere? Play a playlist on all WHD (W)LAN wireless speakers simultaneously, and the party can begin.
By directly connecting an external music source, music from a CD player, radio, or stereo system can also be heard. For this purpose, the Qube XL is equipped with an Aux In (3.5 mm jack). Enjoy music to your taste in very high-quality sound and make full use of the speaker's flexibility.
The integrated Bluetooth receiver has a range of 10m, which maintains a stable connection between devices and ensures interference-free sound reproduction. Music streaming via WLAN occurs within the WLAN reception range, depending on the router used and the respective WLAN network. With a direct connection via LAN cable through the LAN port, you get a very reliable connection, as interference that can occur over the WLAN network is eliminated.
To set up a balanced stereo environment, another Qube XL can be connected to the "Aux-In" via a jack cable. The spatial sound effect creates a dynamic musical world. Additionally, a wireless stereo mode can be set up via iOS smartphones and iPads in conjunction with the WHD Multiroom Player App.
