The WR 250 DSP is a Bluetooth/(W)LAN receiver including a 2x50W stereo amplifier and an integrated DSP (Digital Signal Processor) with connections for non-streaming-capable loudspeakers, which can be installed, for example, hidden behind a plaster ceiling. In no time at all, music from many apps on end devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and computers can be heard in high-quality Hi-Fi sound quality on the connected loudspeakers.
The WR 250 DSP receives music, for example, from a smartphone or tablet via the WHD Multiroom Player app or via any music apps using AirPlay*, AirPlay2*, DLNA, or UPnP and plays it back through the connected speakers.
A proprietary algorithm has been developed for the DSP chip, which performs dynamic sound adaptation in the loudspeaker. This technology, WHD Adaptive Sound Plus, ensures, among other things, that the listener experiences high-quality sound even at low volumes.
An external audio source can be connected to the Line-In. The WR 250 DSP can be operated via the Ethernet socket or via WLAN and also via Bluetooth.
Using our free WHD Multiroom Player APP (Link to video), you can also select music programs from Deezer* and the integrated internet radio. Thanks to the MemoRadio function, your station playlist with your favorite stations is instantly on air after switching on the WR250 receiver, without the need for a smartphone or tablet.
An optionally available KNX gateway can control the WR250 and other WHD (W)LAN devices – such as the WR 55, WR 205, the Qube (XL) and the AirBridge Pro. For example, an internet radio station can be selected via KNX and played directly by the WLAN module. No smartphone or tablet is required for this. Furthermore, the volume can be controlled and the module switched off via KNX.
As an extension, you can set up a multiroom system by using more WHD (W)LAN devices in the vicinity. All devices such as the WR 250 DSP can be controlled via our free Multiroom Player APP.
Combine the WR 250 with our exciters from our Invisible Loudspeaker program and get an almost invisible (W)LAN sound system. Install the WR 250 DSP behind various surfaces and connect the exciters via speaker cable. The exciters can be attached to any desired surface such as suspended ceilings, walls, furniture, cabinets, and counters in the room and use the surface as a resonating body. Through hidden and optimal placement, you get an invisible and exciting sound.
