The loop should be laid in such a way that it encloses the intended usable area. The power requirement depends on the size of the reception field, its nature and the type of loop installation. As a guideline, 0.1W\/m² can be assumed, whereby in reinforced concrete buildings the requirement can increase to approx. 0.3-1W\/m². The provisional laying of a test loop provides information on this, as well as on possible interference. For large areas, subdivision into sub-areas is useful. When using the ST 50 (G), the impedance of the loop should be between 0.5 and 2 ohms. It roughly corresponds to the DC resistance. When using multi-core cables, the resistance can be adjusted by appropriate parallel or series connection of the individual cores.
